We are a Centre of Excellence!

1st October 2014
Holy Cross Catholic Primary school has just been unveiled as a Centre of Excellence, for its outstanding approaches to promote inclusion for all.

In order to gain this status, the school was assessed (for a second time) on the inclusive practises they provide for both parents and pupils.  This involved an Inclusion Quality Mark assessor spending the day with staff and pupils, observing lessons, analysing their practice and policies, as well as speaking to children, parents' and the governing body.  The day was a huge success and Holy Cross are extremely proud of their award.

Miss Jane Bradley (Headteacher), Mrs Trish Mooney (Deputy Headteacher) and Miss Joanne McComb (Inclusion Manager) travelled to London to be presented with the award at the Institute of Director's Building, Pall Mall.  "  The Headteacher - Vic Goddard (from the TV series Educating Essex) also received the award of Centre of Excellence for his own school.

As a result of their award, both staff and pupils from Holy Cross will work alongside other schools within the North West, and share their approaches to inclusion.
