SEND SCHOOL OFFER

Meeting every child’s individual needs lies at the heart of our school’s foundations, and staff at Holy Cross are committed to supporting children in every way possible. When a child has been identified as having special educational needs or being part of a vulnerable group, staff strive to ensure that inclusive practices are embedded to provide them with an enriched and balanced curriculum.

According to the Code of Practice (2015) Special Educational Needs is defined as ‘A child or young person that has a learning difficulty or disability which calls for special educational provision to be made for him/her.’

Like other schools in the Wirral Local Authority, Holy Cross Catholic Primary has a duty of care to support SEND children within the four broad ‘areas of need’:

  • Communication and Interaction
  • Cognition and Learning
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties
  • Sensory and Physical Needs
